Sauna ICON 160 – Compact Modern Outdoor Sauna
Transform a smaller garden or patio into a private wellness retreat with the Sauna ICON 160. Designed for up to three people, this modern outdoor sauna combines a distinctive rounded cube shape with a compact footprint, making it ideal for homeowners who want an authentic sauna experience without installing a large garden building.
Its architectural design provides more usable internal space than a traditional barrel-style sauna, while the higher two-level seating arrangement allows users to sit closer to the warmer air at the top of the sauna. The approximate internal volume of 4.9 m³ also supports efficient heating and consistent temperature distribution.
Full-Height Glass Front
The front of the ICON 160 is formed from 8 mm tempered bronze glass, including a full-height glass sauna door. This panoramic frontage allows natural light into the cabin, creates a more open feeling inside, and gives the sauna a clean contemporary appearance that complements modern garden landscaping and outdoor living spaces.
Premium Thermowood Construction
The sauna is built using thermally modified timber, commonly known as Thermowood. The heat-treatment process reduces the wood’s ability to absorb moisture and improves its dimensional stability, making it especially suitable for outdoor sauna construction. The ICON 160 uses substantial 42 mm curved side walls, with thermowood and aspen used within the seating area.
Comfortable Two-Level Seating
Inside, the sauna features an ergonomic bench arrangement designed to accommodate up to three people. The raised two-level layout provides flexible seating positions and helps users benefit from the naturally warmer air higher in the sauna room. The benches have an approximate depth of 520 mm.
Flexible Heating Options
The ICON 160 can be paired with an appropriately sized electric sauna heater or a compatible wood-burning heater. Current UK listings recommend electric heater outputs in the region of 6–9 kW, depending on the selected heater, glass configuration, installation environment, and electrical supply. Any electric sauna heater must be installed by a suitably qualified electrician.

Heater and Electrical Notice
The sauna cabin may be purchased with or without a heater, depending on the options offered on the Garden Sauna website.
Electric heaters, controllers, lighting, and other electrical components must be connected by a suitably qualified electrician. The correct heater output should be confirmed according to the final cabin specification, glass configuration, electrical supply, and installation conditions.
Installation Requirements
The Sauna ICON 160 should be installed on a solid, flat, stable, and level base capable of supporting the completed sauna and its users. Suitable foundations may include a properly prepared concrete base, paving slab base, reinforced decking structure, or another foundation approved for the installation.
Adequate access should also be provided for delivery, assembly, ventilation, heater installation, electrical work, and future maintenance. The product is available through some suppliers as a flat-pack sauna cabin, although delivery and assembly options depend on the seller.
